About Us - What we do
TAPFIRE, a non-profit corporation based in Washington State, is dedicated to improving lives through advancing health and medical services, water and sanitation, disaster preparedness, and education. Our efforts work towards creating sustainable social, economic and environmental services. TAPFIRE’s activities help communities identify, organize, manage and own structures, systems and programs for community welfare.
TAPFIRE assists poor communities and supports projects that promote cost-effective solutions for delivering municipal services. These projects include, but are not limited to, public health services, with specific focus on water and sanitation, disease diagnosis and surveillance, and disaster preparedness (e.g. fire and emergency medical services).
TAPFIRE partners with local service providers, policy makers, national governments, non-government organizations and the private sector to achieve sustainable results and improvements that are owned and managed at the community level. Fundraising, training of service providers, distribution of equipment and follow-up are all integral components of TAPFIRE’s approach.
